In today's digital landscape, there are countless data storage mechanisms. From traditional relational databases through graph-based to No-SQL storage, there are digital technologies to meet nearly every need. At ChiRhos, we noticed that there was one aspect of data storage that simply wasn't being adequately met by the key vendors - the ability to view an entire data store, including data and security, at a point in time.

Not every application needs a point-in-time data store, of course. For purely transactional systems such as eCommerce, there may be limited value. However, for any application that needs the ability to track and report on data, point-in-time storage is crucial. With a traditional storage system if data is required for audit or reporting purposes then, typically, numerous queries and logs need to be run and checked in order to pull out the value of data at a certain time. (That is if the data is even available to do that at all.) In today's world, with compliance, GDPR and Big Data being critical, many applications simply can't do data storage in that same way any more.

With ChiRhos, every 'get' request made through it's comprehensive RESTful API is time-based. All data retrieved is shown exactly as it was at that point in time, fully respecting access rights at that point in time also. Applictions using ChiRhos can easily show a graph of changes to an entity. You could even drag a slider across and see an entity change over time in front of your eyes. And, of course, reporting just got supercharged. It is now trivial to show the difference in your data between two points of time.

How do I use ChiRhos?

Why the name ChiRhos? (pronounced Kai-ross)

In first few centuries AD, Christians adopted the name 'Chi Rho' as a symbol for Jesus Christ. The name Chi Rho was actually the first two Greek letters of 'ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ', or Christos. The gospel and values of Jesus Christ are core to who we are as a business. Everything we do is with integrity and excellence, as we are doing it for God himself. We believe that those who centre their lives on Jesus are called to a higher standard, and that is what we aim for

ChiRhos also has a second meaning. The word 'Kairos' is Greek for 'time'. This is of course very apt for us, because our service is centred around the need to store data in time.
